Privacy policy
How InnerLifeSkills collects, uses and protects your personal information, and the rights you have over it.

This policy applies to innerlifeskills.com and to our student portal at coach.innerlifeskills.com. It covers everyone who visits our site, joins a free course, subscribes to our emails, enquires about training, or enrols with us.
We train coaches in more than 60 countries, so this policy is written to meet the Protection of Personal Information Act (POPIA) in South Africa and the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) in the UK and European Union. Where those laws differ, we apply whichever gives you more protection.

What we collect, and why
We only collect what we actually need. Here is the whole of it.

| Student records | For enrolled students: coursework, attendance, mentor hours, observed sessions and assessment results. We are required to keep these for ICF accreditation purposes. Basis: performance of our contract with you, and our legal and accreditation obligations. |
| Payment information | Payments are handled by our payment provider. We see that a payment succeeded and what it was for. We never see or store your full card number. |

We do not sell your personal information. We never have, and we will not. We also do not buy email lists.
Who else touches your information
We use a small number of trusted providers to run the business. Each one only receives what it needs to do its job, and each is bound to protect it.
- Kit, formerly ConvertKit, for our email lessons and subscriber list.
- Fluent Forms, which stores form submissions inside our own website database.
- Calendly, for booking calls.
- Zoom, for live classes and calls.
- SiteGround, who host the website.
- Google Analytics 4, for anonymous website statistics.
- YouTube and Vimeo, who serve the videos embedded in our courses.
- Our payment provider, who processes card payments.
- The International Coaching Federation, but only where you ask us to confirm your training hours for a credential application.
Some of these providers are based outside South Africa and outside the European Economic Area, mostly in the United States. Where that is the case we rely on the provider’s own approved transfer safeguards, such as Standard Contractual Clauses.
We may also disclose information if the law requires it, or to protect our rights or someone’s safety.
Cookies and tracking
Cookies are small files a website stores in your browser. We use three kinds.
- Necessary. These keep you logged in and keep forms working. The site cannot function without them.
- Analytics. Google Analytics, so we can see which pages help people and which do not. These only run if you agree.
- Embedded video. YouTube and Vimeo set their own cookies when you play a video.
You can refuse or delete cookies in your browser settings. Refusing analytics cookies will not stop you using anything on the site.
We do not currently run advertising or remarketing pixels. If that changes, we will update this policy and ask for your consent first.
How long we keep it
- Email subscribers: until you unsubscribe, and then we remove you from the active list.
- Enquiries that did not become enrolments: up to two years, then deleted.
- Student records: for as long as ICF accreditation requires, so that we can verify your training and hours years later if you apply for a credential.
- Financial records: as long as tax law requires.
Your rights
Wherever you live, you can ask us to do any of the following, and we will not charge you for it.
- Tell you what we hold about you, and give you a copy.
- Correct anything that is wrong.
- Delete your information, where we are not required to keep it.
- Stop using it for marketing. Every email we send also has a one-click unsubscribe.
- Object to processing, or ask us to restrict it.
- Receive your information in a portable format.
- Withdraw consent at any time, without affecting anything done before you withdrew it.

If you are not happy with our answer
Please come to us first, because most things are quickly sorted. If we cannot resolve it, you can complain to a regulator.

Keeping it safe
The site runs over an encrypted connection. Access to student and enquiry records is limited to the people on our team who need it. Our providers are chosen partly on their security record. No system is perfect, and if a breach ever affected your information we would tell you and the relevant regulator, as the law requires.
Children
Our training is for adults. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 18. If you believe a child has given us their information, please tell us and we will delete it.
Changes to this policy
If we change anything significant, we will update the date at the top of this page and, where the change matters to you, tell you by email.
